My clutch on the compressor does not click on, although it is not frozen up as you can move it by hand (with the engine off obviously). Yup, my rtv 900 suffered the rear axel problem, at about 600hrs. Cost me right around $600 to fix. A little late for my first time, but I will go chech torque on rear today. It is unmarried. The problem you experience is normal. There is adjustments to the unload valve and you have to adjust the charge pressure. The question you have to ask your self is, do I want power or do I want speed? Unfortunately, you can't have both. Either max speed or max power.
